Most AI workflow diagrams are missing the part that matters most.

THE EXCEPTION PATH

Here is the version I would actually build:

Start with one trigger: a form, call, email, payment, or request.

Then define the normal path. What should happen when the data is complete and the request is ordinary?

Next, define the stop rule. What makes the system pause and ask a person?

Add the owner. Not the department. A specific person or role.

Add a record of what happened. Every action should be explainable later.

Last, measure the outcome, not just the number of tasks completed.

An automation that completes 1,000 tasks but creates 100 cleanup tasks isn't working.

The happy path is easy. The exception path is the product.
