On Aug. 24, 2026, Palo Alto City Council voted to restrict RV parking to the edges of town. Permits will apply on both sides of Coyote Hill Road outside Stanford Research Park and on Embarcadero Road by the sewage plant.
The program includes a $15 monthly fee, insurance, a good-neighbor agreement, toilets and trash bins. Staff said the permits will not cover more than half of about 130 people living in RVs. Council rejected a proposal to limit RVs to one side of the street on the 22 most-impacted blocks. Staff will also look at Bryant Street by City Hall.
This is the vote on a plan first outlined in mid-August, not a new proposal.
