On 10 Sep 2026 Google launched the Gemini app for Windows (Erin Pettigrew, Gemini App PM). It follows the earlier macOS desktop client: press Alt+Space to open Gemini over the active window, hand multi-step work to Gemini Spark, pull context from Google apps such as Gmail and Drive, and create images (Nano Banana) or video (Gemini Omni) without leaving the desktop. Google calls the client lightweight/quiet; it supports Windows 10+ on x64 and ARM64, available globally where the Gemini app is supported. Download: gemini.google/desktop. More native desktop capabilities are said to roll out over time; Google AI subscription and 18+ rules apply for selected features.
