On 9 Sep 2026 Instacart launched Clementine, a conversational AI grocery assistant that turns chat, grocery lists, recipes, or photos/screenshots of lists into a ready-to-buy cart. It personalizes for dietary needs, surfaces deals and cheaper alternatives, and aims to keep meal planning inside Instacart rather than ChatGPT-class bots. Available in the US and Canada; Uber Eats and DoorDash already ship similar assistants.
