ChatGPT Health adds Epic for clinicians

OpenAI is connecting ChatGPT Health to Epic so clinicians can import read-only chart data such as notes, labs, and medications and ask questions over it. A Healthcare Public Data plugin adds ClinicalTrials.gov, CMS Coverage, RxNorm, DailyMed, and PubMed; organizations with a BAA can use ChatGPT Work, Codex, apps, and connectors.

OpenAI said it is integrating ChatGPT Health with Epic's EHR (data for over 325 million patients) so clinicians get read-only access to appointment notes, labs, medications, and specialist docs to summarize history, spot changes, and prep visits. Some deployments expose ChatGPT for pre-visit review and clinical timelines. A new Healthcare Public Data plugin fetches ClinicalTrials.gov, CMS Coverage, RxNorm, DailyMed, and PubMed. Organizations with a Business Associate Agreement can use ChatGPT Work, Codex, apps, and connectors for compliant workflows. No new OpenAI blog post in-window; TechCrunch is the source.
