On Thursday, Aug. 28, 2026, Judge Helen Williams said she will weigh a lawsuit over Palo Alto school-board candidate Linda Henigin's ballot designation as "math teacher/mother," but scheduling points past the Friday ballot-printing deadline.
Parent Virginia Noh alleges Henigin, a classroom aide at Duveneck Elementary with a multiple-subject credential, is not qualified to teach standalone math and should not use that title. Williams said Noh should have sued the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters, not Henigin, and submitted no evidence that the description is false. A case-management conference is set for Tuesday afternoon rather than a merits hearing.
Henigin is running against Avery Wang and John Craig for two open seats.
