On 4 Sep 2026 TechCrunch and Ars reported a split preliminary injunction from U.S. District Judge Colm F. Connolly in Delaware: X wins a block on Operation Bluebird using the ‘Twitter’ name and related marks, but the court found Bluebird likely to prove X discontinued bona fide use of the ‘Tweet’ mark and bird logo with no intent to resume. Bluebird (lawyers Michael Peroff and ex-Twitter trademark counsel Stephen Coates) had launched as Twitter.now, then moved to Tweet.app; it reportedly took $20 handle reservations and claimed 172k+ requests. The full abandonment fight continues; the ruling is not a final merits decision.
