HUAWEI Mate XT 2 is powered by the new Kirin 9050 Pro chip. Huawei calls it the first smartphone chip with LogicFolding architecture based on the τ Scaling Law, an approach aimed at shortening signal delays to improve performance and efficiency.

CPU multithreading, on-device AI and thermal packaging are the details I’m interested in here. On a tri-fold, those could translate into smoother multitasking and more consistent performance under load.

It’s interesting to see China’s chip engineering take this direction. I’d like to see how these architectural changes translate into battery life and everyday use in practice.
