This is the dumbest thing ive read in a while: New York City is banning generative AI for roughly 600,000 public school students through eighth grade for the 2026–27 school year. High schoolers will only have limited access through AI literacy classes and approved programs.

Banning AI in schools is such a mistake because it denies disadvantaged students access to what could become the most powerful and affordable personal tutor ever created.
