UMG × ElevenLabs: multi-year deal for licensed AI remix platform

· opgehaald 18:09

Universal Music Group and ElevenLabs announced a multi-year licensing + product deal (10 Sep): a fan-facing AI platform (in development, separate from ElevenMusic) for remixes, mashups, reinterpretations and personalized vocals from participating UMG artists — ElevenLabs’ first major-label pact.

On 10 Sep 2026 Universal Music Group and ElevenLabs announced a multi-year strategic agreement spanning licensing and joint product development. The first deliverable is a new AI-powered music creation platform for fans, built on licensed UMG catalog and opt-in artist participation: remixes, mashups, new track interpretations, and personalized vocal experiences. The platform will be launched by ElevenLabs and kept separate from its existing Music API and ElevenMusic generator. Artists choose whether to participate; both companies frame the deal as licensed, rights-respecting AI that shares value with creators. It is ElevenLabs’ first agreement with a major label and sits alongside UMG’s other AI partnerships (including Udio, Spotify, Nvidia, and Klay).
