Superhuman acquires YC notetaker Fathom (400k MAU)

Fathom (founded 2020) has raised over $30 million and was valued at $94 million in 2024 (PitchBook); investors include Zoom Apps Fund, Telescope, BoxOne, and Maven. A generous free plan helped it past 400,000 monthly active users, with more than 1 million people having recorded meetings. CEO Rahul Mehrotra said internal work on the category confirmed demand and how deep the product has to be; Fathom’s founders framed the deal as distribution speed versus staying standalone. Superhuman already ships email, docs, calendar, a database, and an AI agent builder — a notetaker sits in the middle to draft mail, update records, and schedule follow-ups.
