Roblox expands AI “Build” + games beyond the app

· opgehaald 18:09

At RDC (11 Sep) Roblox rolls generative AI Build beyond NZ to Serbia/Singapore, adds desktop + asset library + iterative control; scene generation later this year. Creators can soon ship as separate mobile/PC/console apps (Roblox as engine); in-browser play by year-end. Also: NPC playtest, offline mode, Roblox Wallet (Airwallex, US 18+) + Card next year.

On 11 Sep 2026 at its Roblox Developer Conference, Roblox announced a broader generative-AI creation push and a path for experiences outside the Roblox app. Build — natural-language game creation first shown in July and previously limited to New Zealand — expands to Serbia and Singapore, gains desktop access, an asset library, and iterative control; prompt-based scene generation (also for Roblox Studio) is promised later this year. Creators will soon be able to publish games as separate apps on mobile, PC, and consoles with Roblox as the engine, and by year-end players should join via browser link. Other RDC notes: NPCs that can playtest later this year, optional offline mode, a Friends chat tab with voice typing, age-tuned discovery, 2D orthographic tooling, plus Roblox Wallet (same-day USD payouts via Airwallex for US creators 18+) and a Roblox Card teased for next year.
