On 1 Sep 2026 Anthropic introduced Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1 as its most advanced coding and knowledge-work models. They share one underlying model: Fable 5.1 is generally available (API id claude-fable-5-1, also on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure); Mythos 5.1 is limited to vetted US cyberdefense and life-sciences access programs with more permissive safeguards. Pricing stays $10/M input and $50/M output tokens, but cache reads drop 75% to $0.25/M tokens—about 25% lower cost on typical workloads and up to ~45% on highly agentic ones. Anthropic also tightens cyber/biology false positives (≈60% fewer cyber interventions per Claude Code session) and ties in Enterprise Frontier Safeguards (ZDR-style privacy with misuse monitoring) rolling out later this fall.
