On 2 Sep 2026 Anthropic released Claude Commerce Agents: an open blueprint (GitHub anthropics/commerce-agents) for building shopping and merchant agents on Claude, with reference implementations for retail, travel, telecom, and entertainment and a Claude Code plugin to scaffold against a real catalog. The companion engineering post covers architecture (one model in an agent loop with skills/tools/evals), latency/cost, and production practices. Coverage notes Accenture, Mastercard, Visa, and Shopify among early adopters; Anthropic’s Angela Jiang said one partner saw carts up about 30–35% and shoppers ~60% more likely to complete a purchase. The blueprint is forkable reference code, not a hosted checkout service.
